just did a tune-up, #1 cylinder missing?
I just did a tune-up consisting of replacing my spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, gaskets, etc. I drove the car around a bit and everything seemed fine, ran great. Then I got back and threw on the timing light to check and adjust my ignition timing, and while shooting the light I noticed it seemed to "skip a beat" every so often, kinda random intervals. Obviously that means that the spark through that plug wire is missing a beat every now and then. What could cause that to happen, considering that the rotor, cap, and wires are all brand new? OEM cap and rotor, NGK blue wires, NGK copper plugs.
I supposed I should stick the timing light pickup on the other 3 wires to see if those miss at all?

yeah, see if you can go to a shop and use a real nice timing light, or just a different one that you know works well, before you decide its missing, you'd probably hear a pinging if it was missin bad anyways

that sounds pretty normal to me, did you have the connector on the passenger side jumpered when you used the timing light? it's supposed to jump a little. if the engine is missing it would run kinda rough and shaky and you'll feel a loss of power.

My timing light is one of those $25 Autozone types, and it jumps around alittle bit, but the marks are easy to read and timing is easy to set. Sounds normal to me.
