i have 97 ls. i just checked the codes on it. when i turned on the ignition. it flashes 8 times then a pause and then 9 times. so i believe that would be code 8 and 9. 8\code 8 is tdc top dead center sensor, and 9 is cyp cylinder sensor. How do i go about correcting this problem. could it be loose or somthing . where is it located.

 

these sensors are located in the distributor

they are usually not fixable

best bet is to purchase a new dizzy

 

my exact codes are p1361. tdc sensor INTERMITTENT INTERRUPTION and p1381 CYP sensor INTERMITTENT INTERRUPTION, is it possible that there could be some buildup or watever on the sensors. would it be ok to take apart my dizzy and check on that.

 

you could take it apart to check

if there is orange dust inside the sensors are probably broken

 

just get a new dizzy....its prob shot.....those are the only 2 sensors in the dizzy. or check the plug at the dizzy for a good connection
