jdm itr 4-1 on a da, crossmember will it clear?
I just ordered a jdm itr 4-1 header, i have a 92 ls with a b20/vtec swap b16 head... when i put the header on will i need to do anything to the cross member? I was going to take it to a muff shop since i need a cat too, if it needs to be modified will most normal muff shops be able to do whatever it is that needs to be done?

you have 2 options
1 buy a aftermarket crossmember like place racing ( hangs low as hell )
2 cut the stock cross member
heres a pic of a cut stock crossmember for a 4-1 header

Is there anything bad that can happen when you cut that piece out? Would a normal muff shop have the tools to cut that off? I dont know how you would cut it...
I hope they dont get scared to cut it and tell me to go to hell

well...when my friend ran a comptech 4-1 header on the da we didn't have to cut the crossmember at all...it was just a pain in the *** to put on, or you could just unbolt the member and then install the header and bolt it back thats how we did it

That header is different from the one in question here. The crossmember needs to be cut not so the header can be placed in the bay, but instead so that it will clear once its been bolted up. Even with the notch in the member I'm pretty damn sure you'll have to drop the member just to be able to fit the header into place before bolting it up.
