header ground clearance & interchangablilty

header ground clearance & interchangablilty
I went to change my oil over the weekend and what do ya know, i big friggin dent in one of the pipes on my dc sports 4-1 header...
car is a 98 gsr.
I have my stock header off my old 92 gsr, but i doubt it will fit cause of the short header the 94-99 gsrs have.
anyways i was looking into a jdm itr header but realize i have to do some modding to the exhaust to make it work. I beleive i would just need an itr cat??? i searched but couldnt find a definitive answer on how to make the jdm itr header work on the gsr. It looks like i just need a longer cat with a 2.5 inch flange.. someone correct me if im wrong.
another option would just be to get another header, but i dont want the same thing to happen again so i might go with a 4-2-1 header.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

To fit a JDM ITR header into a 94-99 GSR, you need a cat that is exactly 12 inches long. I know this because....I've done it! 
In fact, I have my JDM ITR header and Carsound cat for sale right now HoUTX. Click the link in my sig to check it out. Packing and shipping to Houston would be $50, I know that because I have a guy in Austin who is very interested in it, and I went to the post office today and got the exact charges for him. That's for USPS Priority (2-3 day) with delivery confirmation.

Ah, i read something else that said you need a 12 inch cat. And gsr cat is like 16.blah inches. But are there aftermarket cats that bolt right up to it like the carsound one you mentioned? is that one specially made to bolt a jdm itr header up to a gsr?
And what about the flange that bolts up from the cat to the rest of the exhaust? is it 2.5 also? I want to get 2.5 all the way through. What exhaust should i get?

I don't know of any 12 inch aftermarket cats. My Carsound is just a universal unit that I had cut to legnth, it 2.5 inches.

Yes.
