i assume you're talking about the jdm front end conversion. i believe they were required by japanese law to have sidemarkers on the fenders...

it seems like these are the only likely options:
a. they're oem metal and he (or perhaps the original japanese owner) had them shaved
b. they're actually replica jdm fenders made of fiberglass and he's claiming its oem metal

this is kinda with the topic,

Where Can I get the flat side marker lights like you see on the conversions?

the owner of the car before me put these ugly *** ones on, they look like they belong on a roof of a semi truck.. LOL

since I got the holes already i figure i could just put the proper looking ones in there and i wont have to patch the hole.

Any sites I can find good ones at?

What if the fenders were sent from Austrailia? I know there is some locations that have the jdm front stock and didn't come with side markers.

ya my car came with clear sidemarkers and I tried to replace them with oem jdm sidemarkers and it didnt fit. the clear ones were slighter larger so i had to sell the jdm ones..the jdm ones are smaller than most aftermarket sidemarkers, so i would make sure they fit before you buy
