Jacking Points of a JDM Front conversion?
i have a JDM conversion on my car and i need to jack my car up in the front. i usually use the bottom of the rad support to get an even lift, but since i recently did the conversion, im afraid that the rad support will not be sufficient in supporting the whole car when i jack it up. and that it might tear out of the welds or something.
i know that there are many welds and that it should be good since a shop installed my front. but im very paranoid.
just wondering where do you all wiht JDM conversion jack your front up from?

if you worried about it you can do it from the side.

have 2 jacks on both side of ur car..n if ur too scared to jack it up..then ill take the JDM front off ur hands..hahahahaa no really im serious!!!!!!..j/p
yea i'd say jack it from the sides...and if u need it higher use the stands on the control arms for space and height...well acctualyl i dont think u will get height but u will get more room under there
i like doing it from the rad support because it gives me and even lift. i gues i'll go throught the hassel of jacking at the jack points one at a time and using stands.
the front was installed by a shop so i hope they are not half assed.
thanks for the replys.

get a JDM jack, might work with your JDM front..
no, jk, but like someone said above, if the welding was done right. you should be fine, if not, use the sides.. it'd take a bit more time, but at least you'll have a piece of mind and wont f' up your front. an extra few mins is way worth messing up $1000+ front end conversion anyday...

Jack it up from the front jacking point.
If the welds couldn't hold the weight of your car, I'd rather find out sooner than later.

lol. thats an expensive test. maybe he could slowly jack it up or a friend, while the other checks the supports, etc to see if anything is giving out?

If the welds break, the shop who did the work is liable to fix it.
Hence, why I would rather find out sooner than later.

No really... good luck with that!

You make this stupid comment as if I, personally, have any vested interest in the matter at hand.
Even if the shop refused responsibility, I would still want to know the welds are good. Who wants a car that has no structural integrity?

How would it be impossible to prove? The shop just replaced the radiator support. Jacking up the car from the front jacking point should cause no damage to the car. If the car was damaged in any way, it would be obvious that it was a result of shoddy craftsmanship.
I'm glad my JDM front was installed at the factory, so I do not need to have such concerns.

remember, our cars are lowered.. unless he gets a 3ft long ramp so it doesnt haft to incline right away, he'd be fine but i dont think this works, especially if he has a lip
EDIT:
oh and what if he needs to take his tires off?

I'd just jack it by the factory points along the sides. It would only take a few minutes more, and peace of mind in the process. I always use the hoist at work, so I can't tell you first hand about the structural integrety of the front.
