i was driving home from the gas station and all of a sudden it seemed like my car just stalled out. it jerked a little bit and now it wont start back up. all the lights come on all that just seems like its not getting gas or spark or something. any ideas on what it can be before i take it to honda?
when the car died did it putter out like you ran out of gas? have you checked your fuel filter or replaced it recently, it is probably spark or fuel related, check the grounds to your injectors and motor. you could also pull your plugs and see if they look bad??? hope you get it running.
sure you got the right octane? its very possible that the gas you got regardless of octane was dirty as **** and clogged your fuel filter or that even your pump died. check all the filters on your fuel system

i didnt just get gas i was runnin my dad to the gas station so he could get gas for the snow blower. it did kinda sputter like it ran out of gas
list of possible things
Likely Causes
1.) No gas
2.) Fuel Pump
Unlikely But could be the case
3.) Distributor (maybe plug wire slipped off)
4.) Falty Injector (maybe plug came off)
5.) Bad Spark plugs
One of these 5 things is going to be the problem. if not its electrical make sure your engine harness is grounded good

check your fuel pressure if none (my money is on this) fuel pump or related electrical with it. if you have pressure look hook up a timing light to a plug wire to see if you have spark.
i disagree with the bad gas it would still run with lower octane just have more likely to detonate and if it was real dirty gas it would slowly run like crap and then die but the pickup from the tank would catch most of the ****

check your distributor. My brother justt disabled him on the side of his road. moisture got inside the cap and detonated the rotor. Had to replace cap n rotor. check that.....

well if our ignitor is bad then that means it should have really weak spark or no spark at all. take out your plug wires one by one and stick a spark plug in it and see if it sparks to your frame (wear gloves) if all the plugs spark the same then thats not the problem if they vary then your ignitor is either bad or on its way but this could also be a cap and rotor issue

disconnect the fuel line right before the fuel filter, and fire the car up, if fuel shoots out its not your fuel pump. The reconnect that, and disconnect the fiuel line after the fuel filter..if the fuel shoots out, then its not the pump or a clogged filter. At that point, replace your cap and rotor, and pull the inition coil. If you see dark splotches on it, you have to replace the coil (70$ at pepboys)

(You can measure primary & secondary resistance in the coil.) Then swap in a 'known-good' ignitor. So it sounds like there isn't a good DIY test for the ignitor.

So that's first! What's missing, fuel or spark or both?
