inspection??
I have a 97 RS with a salvaged title, i took it off the insurance and my boy told me that was a bad move b/c salvaged cars go through a different kind of inspection. And he told me if i dont have receipts for every little thing on the car that is not stock or from a different year they will consider it stolen , I bought the car with a 2000 front, and a gsr tranny on an LS block, the guy never gave me a receipt for it, but i ran the vin number on the tranny, and it wasnt stolen.
Personally I don't know the law and inspection requirements for N.Y. but here in Cali we're one of the tightest to get by. I do emissions inspections. I see cars being registered with alot of **** on it. For a salvage car to get registered here in Cali you need a emmisions test and a brake and lamp inspection. Other cosmetics are not required for inspection, people from the state want to make sure the vehicle is safe to operate on the road.
hey smoguy can u run me through wat they going to check when i registered my salvage car.....just need to knoe wat they will need so i won't have a hard time.....also i got pretty much everything from my cousins old integra and so is it ok to use his vin number to show that the parts was not stolen thx....bumped
