Most important question is what is your budget and what is your goal? A gsr swap should be a good choice and is decently priced.

B20V... overbore 1mm 11:5:1 pistons/eagle H beam rods, tuner 3 cams, ultra series manifold, 76mm tb, toda rep header, and a 3'' exhaust. that set up would be good for 225+whp.

First of all , b20s are not ideal in the boost world on stock sleeves, they are thin.... Second of all what hp are you looking into...

If the Ls block is salvageable get a gsr head and do an lsvtec setup, then boost. You will see waaaay better numbers and power.

Just make sure you build the bottom. I did ls rods but I had them shot peened to strengthen them, then ACL yellow race bearings is a must along with arp headstuds.

from everything that im reading the gsr b18c1 is an all around great motor for boost as long as the compression is lowered to like 9.0:1 right? im new and coming from the 4g63 world so please dont flame me for a dumb question im learning

also, dont mean to post jack but is there be any difference between a ls/vtec (b18b with a b18c head) and just getting a b18c long block? in other words, is there a difference in the short blocks? i.e oil passages? or something

no you can safely push 300whp on stock internals after that you start to risk it, thus forged internals become necessary. Nope 9:1 would be ideal but heck some ppl boost ITR engines any where from 10:6:1 to 11:1:1 for the jdm itr, it's not recommended tho. Yes there are different oil passages I'm not sure how many but for an LSV you need to run a line from the filter plate to the head. along with a few other differences 87v89mm crank, oil squirters rods/pistons.

awesome! i think i would just like to stick with 9.0:1 just to be safe if i were to build the block and just boost the crap out of it lol, after all, the compression does is help the power while not in boost, but after boost hits, its obsolete.

so if i were to get a usdm integra gsr that comes stock with 10.0:1 CR i can just throw a turbo on and boost to around 300 hp and be alright? reliable dd? not beaten on everyday of course, i dont go WOT unless someone provokes me... lol

If your gonna use forged internals 9.0 is old school with e85 and advances to tunning why not 10-10.5 comp?

I had a stock block Itr motor (USDm 10.6:1) I had boosted on 15 pounds for a while did fine like that. It was about 390 whp

You should be fine for a good bit but it's not gonna be reliable as stock nothing will. And it won't last forever

and to the OP, coming from the new guy, if its worth anything, go with the b18c1 lol
