improving power on b18b
what other ways are there to improve power in the b18b without boosting it
other ways beside nos, i/h/e

would i gain anything swappin in a gsr intake manifold?
if you want to change your intake manifold look into the skunk2 manifold for the B18B1 head. it flows very good and will compliment a set of aftermarket cams really well.
JG Edlebrock (spelling?) makes the Victor X manifold for the LS. It is nice.
You could also go with a bigger throttle body.
Advance your timing...a few degrees.
Get an Apexi SAFC and tune your fuel curve.
Light weight pulleys.

i recommend gettin the skunk2 intake manifold. they are $250 and give you nice power at high end. you can always build your head but its not the best bang for your dollar. i would swap out your tranny for a gsr tranny. that also does wonders.
wow... i wanted to see a post just like this. i am in the same situation. right now i have a obd1 b18b with an s80 tranny. here is the order of stuff i am gona do to it. right now it has advanced timing, tightened throttle cable, apex'i filter on stock piping, tanabe racing medallion exhaust, ngk plugs and wires, and i use mobil 1
i plan on getting soon (in this order)
skunk2 intake manifold
nice flowing header (4-2-1)
test pipe
cam gears and tuning
this is reasonable stuff. after that maybe a gsr tranny to make shifting better?
im gona bookmark this thread and see what everyone else says. how easy is the skunk2 manifold installation? hopefully it comes with instructions...

get a good tranny
Si tranny or R tranny
9lb flywheel
no exhaust or something i forgot the last one
14.7 quartermile..
your a lot faster with the stock engine without any power gains

most people have filters on a stick...get a true CAI first off. of course exhaust and header. Beware of lightened flywheels, some arnt as strong as stock units or high end units.
If any guys with LS's are running Skunk2 IM's how bout some feedback, first time i was aware that one was made for our models. Would love to hear about results.

for bolt on...cai, header (hybrid 4-2-1 with longer secondaries http://www.hytechexhaust.com) 2.25in Exhaust all the way back...(high flow cat)T/B bored to 2mm larger than stock, skunk2 intake manifold, some crower cams, street port your head..and up the compression on the pistons..lighten flywheel, lighten the car, Si or GSR or R w/LSD...
does the top end power that the skunk2 manifold makes come at the expensense of low rpm power and torque?

I would recommend against the Victor-X manifold, especially with a b18b. Your engine doesn't rev up that high and will require a heavy set of mods to do so safely.
