Ok i have a 95 gs-r and the other night on my way to work i pulled out of a red light and my car just stalled. i kept tryin to start it but it acted as if i were outta gas. so i parked it and after work in the mornin messed around and then realized that it would only run if i turned my key over and then slightly let my key come back the other way. otherwise as soon as i turn it over the key just comes right back and doesn't stay locked in. do i just need to change my ignition? i've never had this problem with any car before. any help is appreciated, thanks.

ok well i just wandering if this problem sounds like the ignition switch harness, or if i would need to replace the whole ignition key switch?
I actually just had this problem too... although before this happened my car would sometimes die right when it started but heres the story... I was driving to work etc etc everything was fine then at a red light it turned green so i started to go a bit then it died in the intersection... pulled over towed etc... car would turn over for a quick sec then just die over and over and over... had a firend check it out and turned out it was the harness as when u click 2x no lights came on also for me but when u would crank it the car wouldnt stay on and u had the hold the key to where it cranks to have the car stay on ... but ya its the harness imo =P

ok yeah i just got off the phone with a locksmith that i know and he said that it's all in the wiring, he said the lock assembly doesn't do anything but turn, and the harness controls everything that it does. so at least i narrowed down to that. it's kinda hard drivin a 5-speed and holding ur key halfway and smokin a cigarette, lol. but thanks for the response.now i just gotta wait a day for my ebay bid to be up haha.

ok what is the difference between a m/t ignition switch harness and an automatic one? i know mine is a m/t and it has a third wire that bolts into the cylinder close to the keyhole.....
