how to tell what year b18a
is there a way you can tell what year b18a you got reason i am asking is because i need to order a rear main seal and i need the year thanks

i'm pretty damn sure they're the same from 90-93
But if you really need to know, on the front of the block, towards the distributor there should be four little dial looking things...
For an example it would look like
(9|0) or (9|2) I believe its the....crap...i don't remember which one it is, there should be four. Its gonna be the one that has a number between 90 and 93 lol

Well duh. But he was wondering what year b18a he had.
There were a few slight changes in 92, which is why i told him how to find when his engine was manufactured. However, i don't think the part that he's looking for had been changed. As stated previously.

if you look on the front of your head, right above the header/exhaust manifold, you'll see some little cirles with numbers in them (like mentioned before) the little circle to the VERY left, will have the year of the motor

Check the block serial #. The first digit is supposed to indicate the year, based on when the engine was available.
For example the block in my '95 GS-R has a serial # of B18C1 - 2nnnnnn which means it's the 2nd year that engine was available. But I don't know when the B18A was first available...
