how much will it take??
how much HP do you think a C5 can make before it blows without sleeves and how much PSI do you think it would takes to get there... im building one for my 92 teg. im keeping a/c and power steering, and im gonna use a GT35r turbo that comes with a full-race kit.

19-24 psi should be deffinate boom!! area
you should be makin about 430-450 in the not safe at all area
stock sleeves = one detonation and its all over
btw keeping the a/c with a full 3in down pipe is very diffcult, but i have managed with a t3/t4 b4.

ive already talked to full race and ive modified my ac bracket and removed a *** that was casted on the block to make room for the down pipe. there turbo kit is made for ac. if it does blow what would be reusable?
btw, i gave u complete failure territory it will run for alil bit at those boost levels, but to be safe i would go with about 12-16psi on 94 pump, if u have a 2 setting boost controller set one for 10 and the other for 14
if it blows rings, bearings, new sleeves
it really shouldnt be that bad... you have forged rods too?
if u loose a rod, ur valves will most likely be fucked
i would go for it boost it hard AND make sure its tuned PERFECTLY

Too bad I'm already pushing that on a totally stock engine with higher compression and I haven't boomed in 30,000+ miles ...strike 1

one detonation....like one single combustion? .....mmm NO. A little pinging here and there isn't good, but probably won't blow up your engine either if tuned correctly........strike 2

Please explain your numebrs of 12-16PSI?? Why that number? What if he makes only 300whp because of a very very conservative tune? What if he makes 500whp because of an aggressive tune and a freakish efficient engine (happens
).......strike 2.5
.
The rest of what he said is kinda OK. Stock sleeves "HT" limit is about 400 - 500 whp. We've seen more, but people push it. I'd say with that compression 8.5:1 and a great setup you should aim for around 400-450whp, but that's my tuning opinion
Edit: Sorry to be so rude, but I really didn't like the PSI numbers you gave out. No one should ever base a setup of PSI to get Horsepower. The numbers you gave for sleeve strength sound about right 420-450......of course these are round about numbers the higher you go the more on edge you are.

thanks alot, so it sounds like with a good tune i should be good to go!! when he said on a "94 pump did he mean a 94 ac compressor? why wouldnt a brand new 92 pump work?
i think all we got around here is 93. i also should use an aftermarket breather setup! so it breathes better, any suggestions? without drilling and tapping the valve cover?
