okay, how many of you guys do your own work on your integra? what things do you leave to trained professionals to do. how many of you are trained professionals. me? I'm doing everything to my car other then suspension and turbo(eventually). what about you guys?
jumpoff: you'll do work on your engine and such, but won't do anything for your suspension? Suspension stuff is lots easier IMO.
Yeah, I do it all too. If I get a little worried that I'm doin something wrong or think I'll need a hand I call a freind over.

In the 2.5 yrs I've had my car, 100% has been done by me (except bodywork). That includes changing the clutch and flywheel.
The only things I woudln't do at the house is machine work
Luckily I live in Dallas, and the honda-tech scene here is big. I have all the help, tools, parts, friends ect... I need.

well, i won't do timing belts, or any machine work on my engine. suspension is pretty tough though, i'm getting my teins installed by a pro because all my friends have springs, and we've never installed coilovers and I don't wanna be stuck in a hole. I should have said with the aid of friends sometimes, i'll do most of my engine work.

I'll do everything except suspension alignment & body/paint. I can't measure suspension angles, so I'll do suspension work, then take it for alignment. I don't enjoy filling & painting, so I never bought myself the equipment for it.
suspension and normal bolt ons are the easiest, don't pay somebody to install the tiens, u don't even have to compress them like u do springs.
I do all my work now, the only thing I won't do is install internals because i'm too scared of ******* up.

Im thinking of doing it myself(tein installation). I'm going to buy a helms manual and follow that because my haynes manual doesn's give a great write-up. the only thing i'm worried about is removing the stock suspension, thats the hard part. removing frozen bolts is gonna be a bitch, and i don't wanna be stuck w/o a car for too long.

If its is a straight swap(take out factory shock and spring and put in new tein coilovers) man that'll be real real easy. You don't even need a manual for that. Just jack up the car and look at the suspension and you'll know just by looking what you'll need to do.

Buy a helms manual, buy a basic tool set if you are going to do basic upgrades. Then as you get into the more serious upgrades you're going to have to buy more tools.
You don't need a garage.

I did everything on my car. I'm about to rebuild another engine come this spring, too.
I however had to take my car to the dealer when the car jumped timing when the crank pulley key broke, for some reason?! That was a pain in the *** and I had no time to fool with it.
