How do you do this???
Ok, I recently did a compression test on my car a couple days ago. So how do you figure out the compression ratio? the compression tester gauge read 150 on all fours...what does that mean???

Why are you trying to figure this out, im assuming the motor has been modified, but you're not sure what? Whats the specs of ur setup, also you could try this, http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...c.php

Re: How do you do this??? (kuja)
thats exactly why i'm tryin to figure it out. i bought the car w/ 191k miles on it and i've been wondering if the motor has been rebuilt. the mechanic sez i have "damn good compression." there are holes drilled on my window pillars, so i assume the car had some kind of gauges...still tryin to figure it out..any ideas?

The only way to find out your compression ration is to open up the head/block and look at what pistons you have. Or ask the previous owner.
What model do you have?

Re: (no2unenolife)
I have a 1990 GS. I'm guessin it had other mods (turbo or nitrous) before I got it from the previous owner, or at least he was preppin it for somethin big. theres holes drilled big enough for piping. Too bad I don't have his # anymore...i should've asked before...

I have seen many cars with pillar gauges and no engine mods, go figure. Your compression sounds good, but I bet you didn't have the throttle on full while cranking or your numbers would probably be higher, or he was prepping for turbo and you have 8.5-1 pistons, lol. I am just playing devil's advocate, cause your numbers look great in relation to each other, but alittle low, even for a B18A. Helps to know what engine you have also.

Usually with turbo or nitrous, you want to lower the compression ratio. If you have a bore scope, you can pull the spark plugs and look at the pistons.
