There's one and only true cleaner for your tires... It's called Westley's Bleach White.

If you had whitewalls, they'd be clean and white as new. We dont' have whitewalls, so the tires are clean and black.

You can find it at Pep Boys. Been using this stuff for like 10 yrs. Won't use anything else.

I agree bleach white works the best it takes off all dirt and all build up from using tire shine. To shine them up I use black magic tire gel. The gell works better than the spray( no over sray on the wheels and the rest of the car, and it doesn't sling off all over the place)

I use cleanser(ajax, comet, etc.) and a scrub brush. you'll be amazed how much dirt is embedded in the rubber. after you're done and tire is dry, finish with the rubber protectant of your choice.

I use the Bleach White stuff too (my dad introduced me to it). I spray it on the tire and scrub it w/ a big tire brush.

Yep, the stuff actually removes the outermost layer of rubber molecules (the brown buildup is "dead" rubber), and thus makes it look like new. It's actually somewhat corrosive (you don't have to worry about paint finishes if you don't let it dry and spray it off right after scrubbing the tire). Be careful of your eyes and don't breathe the stuff in when using it, that's bad (I've breathed it when it was windy outside, nasty stuff).

agrees!!! wheel cleaners are about the most hazardous cleaning product, burns the noise and the eyes.

I like simple green alot, works on lots of stuff. To me that means just one less bottle to carry down stairs. simple green works great on wheels as well as wheel wells and the tires. My latest product that i have been using and very happy with is called Greased Lightning. Its made here in SC and was formulated in part by a a guy my friend went to school with at Clemson University. Takes dirt right off tires with a brush. Added bonus, also good for removing petrolium-based stains in cloths

Give it a try.

I spray the Bleach White on the tires, not the wheels. I scrub with a tire brush going about 4 times around the tire then rinse thoroughly.

I've never had a problem. My tires always look awesome.

Same here, even it gets on the edges of my wheels a bit I spray it off immediately and no problems.
