How do I remove speedo needle..or reset mileage, or both!
I am selling my cluster to a buddy, and I want to change mileage to reflect his miles. As far as I can tell, I can't spin the wheels without taking off the needle, to remove the front face. Anyone know how to safely remove needle, or even better would be to change mileage, and not have to remove needle!! I need help now!

Yeah, it would be stupid if it weren't designed that way

Let me add a bit on how I used to do it on clusters I sold. Keep in mind this is very time consuming.
take the speedo out of the plastic case so that you have only the speedo in your hand.
I attached a pencil with eraser side out in a drill.
There is a pin that sticks out of the number rollers on the back of the speedo.
I used the soft eraser to grip onto the pin and roll the numbers forward until the proper number is reached.

well, I'm glad I have lots of sweet intuition. I took off the needle, and you can easily remove the bar that interlocks the gears together...only hard part is getting the needle back on in the correct position. So I got my mileage right, but I can't get the needle on in the right place...any comments on that?

i think you have to give it power, like putting it in the car, then when it gets power, the needle will want to be at zero, so you push it back on so that its at zero.
