how to do compression test?
I'm looking at an integra with a salvage title (theft recovery) tomorrow and need to know how to do the compression test. I know how to put the gauge in the spark plug hole but how do i disable fuel and spark? also what size spark plugs do integras use?
and lastly, if the car has a salvage title but still drives like normal i can get it titled/registered/insured right?
thanks

i just take out all the ignition wires. turn the engine over( with the gas pedal to the floor), until the gauge jumps 3 times. what year/model integra are you buying?

Here's a link to do a compression test w/ pics: http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...t.php BTW not that hard at all.
Also yes you can get it titled/registered/ and insured.....EXCEPT that it will be a salvage titled car, registered as a salvage car, and insured as salvage car which some car insurance company won't cover.

here are my easy steps
1:take out all plugs
2:disconnect distributor harness (located on backside of dist)
3:take out fuse from under hood fuse box for fuel
4:connect comp tester
5
pen throttle fully and crank over right until needle stops moving
oh and reason why i disconnect dist is because it still is possible for u to damage your ignitor, i've seen it happen so many times if your car has some mileage on it
