when changing the valve cover gasket where do i apply to hondabond? do i put it on the valve cover? valve cover gasket? engine head?

On the edges of the cam covers, like below where the dots are.

I've never used hondabond, or any sealer on the VC cover, and had no leaks.

i wasnt planning to, but read around here and there and alot of ppl recommended it.

you can use hondabond or just any gasket maker for that matter. but like whats been said just apply it to the corners of the cam caps on each end.

I've been working with an acura master mechanic for a couple of months now and he said if you're using a gasket you should not put any sealant on there with it because it it soaks the gasket and compresses it so it doesn't seal correctly

Maybe don't need it "all the time" like /\ said but if you use any gasket sealer this is the one to get.
I broke my bleeder housing for coolant on my B16 an hour before leaving for the races and found a 12mm bolt and hondabonded it in there.

Ghetto but no leaky. Its still there because I haven't sourced a housing yet.

The four corners is where I apply small amount of HondaBond on VCG. Also use it around bolt holes on oil pan gasket and on oil pump and rear main seal casing when removed and re-installed.

Yea u don't need to but I dunno y that mechanic says not to even in any honda manual its says to us gasket maker. I always use it jus so u don't have anything to worry about later and also I've only replace my valve cover gasket once in the last three years after pulling it of prolly about 15 times or so wit no leaks so I say use the gasket maker I didn't use it when I first replaced the gasket and it leaked on me

Yep I put a new gasket on and have pulled it off/on about 15 or so times as well. Still doesn't leak. Just a dap at the corners every time and go.
