HID Problem on JDM Conversion! Need HELP!!!
Okay. So here's the problem
I have a JDM front GS-R. Running a HID setup. The other night while driving the HID's flickered (I turned them off, and turned back on). They worked for about 5 minutes then flickered again. I turned them off once again and then they didn't come back on.
Here's what I've concluded after some time checking it out:
HIDs work when brights are off. After flickering brights both positive and negative sides of the HID plug read 12 volts. And HIDs no longer work. No blown fuses. New relay. Relay turns on and clicks. Ground wires are connected. Grounded correctly. Ballasts are working correctly.
I really honestly don't know what there is left to do and if anyone has had this problem or knows what is wrong any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

The ballast might be on the way out. Are you sure they are getting enough power? I know HIDs require a good bit of power, especially when they are firing up. If you do not have heavy enough gauge wiring to them they can have trouble drawing enough power and it's bad for the ballast. I believe it can also cause the ballast to get too hot, but i'm not positive. That could explain why they came back for you, the ballast could have cooled down.
It's also bad for them if you have your HID lights on when starting the car. The starter running causes all kinds of disruption in the power system, and draws a good bit of power, and it's really hard on the ballast as well. Either of those things can cause the ballast to start giving out.
