Default HELP WANTED > Suspension (SPRINGS/STRUTS)

Hello! So I tried to set the integra (2000 gsr if it matters) with a strut/spring (h&r race and kyb gr-2) combo this weekend and ran into a bit of a road block, i figure someone on here can steer me in the right direction. so my problem is as follows: we had the fronts set up perfectly and in place and when we went to lower tthe car back down, the piston (center strut arm) just extended past the top hat. I dont want to take apart my stock suspension, so i picked so second hand tophats up, but I know I am missing parts, the kybs just came with the top nut and 2 weird hallowed out bolts, look kinda like a spacer. Not sure why I just got two of those but yea. So I pretty sure there needs to be a bump stop or a something to lock onto the strut arm inside the spring to stop it from traveling up. Let me know any insight you may have, by the way I have done some searching and have came up pretty empty, even checked the FAQ's thanks!

There are two rubber halves (#7), one on the top of the top hat and one on the bottom they get pushed in, and the metal spacer (#14) you have goes in the middle. There is then rubber spacer that sits in between the spring and the top hat (#11). Finally a bumpstop on the shock. Don't forget the washer on top also before you put the nut on. You need to either take apart your stock shocks to get these parts or order them from Acura.

#16 is the bump stop which you'll need, although they're a little pricey new from Honda (I think like $15 a side or something). Don't worry about the dust cover (#12) though. It's a metal tube that won't work on after market shocks. If you want a dust cover, order some P/S rack boots and use those, otherwise just don't worry about it. The guy who had my car before me installed his after market shocks w/ those metals ones and it REALLY messed things up. Bent a coilover permanently and did some other damage.

Wouldn't get your hopes up on Autozone having that stuff...You'll need to get it from Acura. Good luck man!

There lies your problem. Don't half *** on such important components such as your suspension. In this case you're lucky you weren't able to drive away with it installed.

I have the OEM #15's available. PM me if you want them.
