Default help: Just finished my swap

Hey guys
i just need a sanity check here.
i just finished my swap b18c5 into a 99 ls
i have not hooked up the vtec soleniod, knock sensor and vtec oil pressure yet, but that should not prevent me from starting the car.

now (1st) i turn the key, i a get a click....
(2nd) i trickle charge the battery and i get series of click with the fans kicking on.
from this point is it safe to assume my battery is either shot or needs to be charged further.
or maybe i need a new starter?

any advice would be welcomed
thanks

Your battery needs to charge or you might need a new one, try jump starting it or leaving it on the trickle for longer.

Is your problem not being able to start your car? Do you have spark?

I just finished my swap no more then a month ago, it took/sat 2 weeks and did the same thing as yours. I looked into it so in depth that I didn't even think about the battery and sure enough it turned right over with the car being jumped. If it still doesnt work just keep retracing your wires, check grounds and fuses

latest update,
i sprayed starter fluid into the tb, and it did not start, so its leading me to believe its the spark. but i checked the to see if the spark plugs were firing and they were, grant it i dont know how big of a spark it should be...fyi, i bought my distributor from distributor king....i am going to check the compression this weekend, although i just rebuilt it, i will do it anyway....my other question is whats the best way to clean the injectors, should i just spray it with carb cleaner or soak it gas?
thanks

and i think the ecu code was refering to a JDM ecu...

Hey guys once again i am in need of help, with my swap...
the good: i finally got the thing to start.

the not so good: but sometimes it stays on and other times it shuts off immediately if i dont have my foot on the throttle. and when it stays on, its a rough idle.

my guess is the timing is off, can anyone confirm this or throw any ideas on what i can do....the car is soooo close to being done

thanks in advance

Are you throwing any codes? Throttle Body Position sensor off? When's the last time you cleaned your IACV? Fuel filter could be clogged and only letting enough fuel through when WOP.

Just trying to throw ideas out there.

Well, you did make sure you installed the timing belt correctly?.. Meaning the cams were at TDC, when you put it on. You may be a tooth off or something.

Check the timing and get back with us... Honestly, you shoudl have never turned the engine over without making 1billion% sure the cams were degree'd correctly and you weren't off any teeth on the timing belt.

Could be the timing is off. Also could be your spark plug wires. Did you make sure you got the plug wires on the distributor cap in the right order? I had 2 swapped at one time and the car ran SUPER rough. I was surprised it even ran at all.
