Default Help me...

Hey dudes, its me Matt. I don't post on the forums much, but I have been a member for a few months and generally check everyday. I usually just browse through here and honda-tech.com. I'm 17 and from jersey. I recenty got my license about 3 weeks ago. I was given a 95 dodge neon for free from a dying grandmother about a year ago. I want a 92-93 gs-r... and I was planning on getting mine this summer, or possibly in the winter... depending on what was available. About a week or two ago you may remember a post on here about how I had an unfortunate accident with my neon. The hood is crunched in, as well as the front end and a headlight is out... its all exterior damage. The car only has 80000 miles on it, and its in good condition. It's book value is 1500. I was goin to sell it this summer and combined with other money purchase my teg.
Well I got the estimate back on the other ladies car... $1100. And the damages to my teg were estimated at $1700 high-end. The guy only saw pictures tho, and not the actual car. I'm goin to be living down the shore this summer, but I'm goin to Rowan University in the fall... I need a car now and for the summer. So I see myself with 4 possible options...
1. Get the Neon repaired. My parents dont really like the neon, they think its bad luck and are worried about getting it fixed. They will be paying for whatever I choose, and I'll have to pay them back. They already put $500 into the car to get a head gasket fixed and something else. I said maybe we should get the neon repaired and when I sell it I'll make most of the money back for the repairs.
2. Buy a cheap car and use it for a few months. Just look around local papers and other things for a cheap $500-1000 car that will run and I can use for now and the summer.
3. Go to a police auction. A friend of mine last year got a 93 eclipse with turbo for 750. I've heard of other good deals, and I could prolly get a quick car with turbo or other mods for semi cheap... under $1500. I would like this option the most, because the car could actually be better than the neon.
4. Find out what parts I need, purchase them online, and see If I can get someone to fix the car for me, or possibly fix it myself with the help of some friends. I could take them to a shop as well.

What do you suggest? I'm really just looking for some advice, I can't have a car on campus freshman year, so I could wait until the winter (when prices should be down) or next summer to get my gs-r. What do you think will be the cheapest and best way to getting my gs-r as quickly as possible? Any and all reasonable advice is accepted... Thanks in advance

long post. your car wasnt covered? if it is... just get it repaired. come up with the deductible. then when its repaired. sell it. dont waste your money on a beater just to use it.
