Its difficult to put my car into 1st and 2nd , but its fine for 3rd,4th,and 5th. whats wrong??????any opinions???

 

change your transmission fluid?

 

I just got my swap done and saw them put 2qrts in . Do you think it needs more??

 

tranny oil is fine. you burn out to much on first and then you shift in 2nd to fast?...I dont know.

 

no...thats probably not the cause. maybe synchros? or tranny/clutch is goin out....how many miles on the car? have you been shifting hard on it? something is definitely wrong..like my friends car..where 5th was hard to get into..now all gears are hard to get into.

 

Could be a slave cylinder

 

The engine suppose to have 25-35k miles. This morning I was able to put it into 1st but not into 2nd. I can put it into 2nd but I have to shove it in there.Also turbogsr, what did youre friends car and up having?

 

dont know yet mang...but basically his clutch is pretty much out...so we'll find out when we switch the clutch out if that was the problem.

What about linkage?

 

Shifter forks are a common problem in sohc trannies. Transmission oil capacaties for sohc is 1.9 quarts. For dohc its 2.3 quarts. You may be low if you have a dohc motor.
