Hey I was running on my civic a little hard last night or I mean my girlfriend was. And she said the car smelt funny on the inside. So we pull over and I pop the hood and look down where the dip stick goes and it is red hot. But I really couldn't smell anything. It was kinda windy so that's probably why. But I just wanted to ask what this means??????? is there something wrong with my engine???

 

was the engine temp ok?

 

Isnt the dipstick between the header pipes? Do you have an aftermarket header and no heat shield?

 

It's a completely stock sohc vtec engine with just an intake. The heat shield and everything has not been messed with. Do you think it is running lean? oh and the engine temp was just below the half point.
