Ok I was driving my g/f's 2001 GSR home from school today when all of a sudden I noticed the check engine light came on. On her car she has an AEM CAI, JDM dc 4-1 header, carsound 2.5in high flow cat, and apexi n1 exhaust. I have had the mods on her car for a couple of weeks now with no problems So I dont think those are what did it or could I be wrong. Her car is a 2001 gsr with 18,000 miles on it. Are there any repairs supposed to be done at this time. i checked the oil and It was fine and the O2 sensors are all snug and in the right spot so I need some help here.

 

I had a similar set up but on my 95 GSR but didnt have those problems... try reseting your ecu..

check the code. try c-speedracing.com for how to find out what code your car has.

 

the way you check the code, in case you dont know, is by pulling out a green rubber connector thing undernesth the far right side of the glove box. take a paper clip of a piece of wire and jump the harness. turn the key 2 clicks while watching the check engine light on the cluster. count how many flashes. a long flash counts as 10. then report back, and you may get some help.
