Help!! CEL Code...
Earlier today I installed a 2.5 inch carsound cat with and bolted up my type r catback along with it. It threw a cel code 41. Under C-speedracing.com it says that it is the primary oxygen sensor - heater circut malfunction. I tried searching, but couldn't find anything. Will this code affect performance? Could it be that my sensor is dangling?

i think its the 2.5in cat and exhaust, too much flow, im guessing, so its outa the ordinary for the O2 and sending the code.
sorry i couldnt be more helpful, bump

Yah, I tried resetting the ECU. Still there
I haven't really noticed any drag in performance. I went back to the muffler shop and they said my o2 was shot. Can anyone tell me if this needs to be repaired ASAP? Thanks.

first try the aluminum foil trick, where you wrap the sensor in aluminum foil and then tape over it so its on snugly and no air can get in, supposedly it tricks it into not throwing any codes, that way you'll know if its th O2 (wich it probaly isnt) or if the cat is no carb legal HTH
Actually, I just got back from jacking up my car. I looked under and the heater wire was sorta loose. I plugged it back in and wala, no CEL. Oh, and I noticed that I have a bottleneck from the end of the cat to the beginning of the type r catback. It looks like a 2inch flange. GRRR.

No no no, the 2 inch part I was talking about was on the outlet of the carsound cat. I bought a 2.5 inch ID/OD carsound and they flared on a 2inch flange on the outlet of the cat where it bolts up to the type r catback. I told them to add flanges, but I didn't know they were going to reuse my old ones. Their garage is also underground so I wasn't able to see what they were doing. Talk about scanless.
Well, I'm going back tomorrow to demand them to change that bottleneck to 2 1/4 straight through. Can't people do the right stuff the first time anymore? Sheez.

i dont think they had a choice, since the ITR exhaus bottlenecks like a ****! so they have to match the flange from the exhuast which is 2", just have them chop the bottle neck off the exhaust and the cat and connect them with a 2 1/2 inch pipe
