Default Help!

I have a 95 GSR and I need to perform the 60000 mile maintenance on it. I'm really reluctant to take it to the dealer because it's going to cost $700. Can this maintenance be done at a non-acura car shop/garage or whatever, or should i just take it to the dealer?

I say screw the dealership and take it to qualified shop who specializes in hondas and acuras. Of course, if you can do it yourself then that's the way to go.

All you pretty much need to do is as follows:

-Acura Shop Manual ($65+ from Helm I think)
-replace spark plugs
-valve adjustment (recommend having the tool. it's not necessary but extremely helpful)
-oil and filter change
-transmission fluid drain and refill
-coolant flush and refill (or just drain and fill)
-replace distributor cap and rotor (can inspect and see if there's too much corrosion)
-check and replace air filter (if K&N, check and clean if necessary)

Everything else is check this, check that. Just don't take it to a shop who claims to be able to work on ALL types of import cars. Try finding one that specializes in Hondas and Acuras. If all else fails, take it to the dealership.
