what's in a tune-up
Depends on the shop, some have different packages. To me a tune up should consist of:
New Plugs/ new plug wires/ new distributor cap and rotor
Oil change
Top off all fluids
Check and replace belts (alternator, A/C)
Possible new fuel filter
Clean or replace air filter
Thats just me though

owner's manual gives a good indication of what services need to be performed at what mileage, between that and the previous service history of the car you should be able to determine what needs to be "tuned up"
when a customer calls me for a tune up, generally we are talking about tuning up the engine
plugs
wires
cap/rotor
air filter
fuel filter
cabin filter (if applicable)
oil change (includes check and top off fluids)
to me that is pretty much your standard tuneup, some cars require more or less depending on age and mileage, but you should also perform a thorough inspection of the vehicle as well

Coming from a former shop manager, there's no such thing as a tune up.
It all depends on the car. If you're looking for an extensive tune up, then here's a list:
- brake flush
- clutch flush
- tranny fluid change
- coolant flush
- oil change
- air filter
- spark plugs
- spark plug wires
- air filter
- distributor cap/rotor
- fuel filter
- radiator hoses
- a/c, alternator and p/s belts

I have always trusted Napa myself, but lately it seems as if the quality of their parts is no better or worse than the stuff you can get from big chain stores (Autozone, Advance, Checker's, etc.)
There are certain parts that I would only go OEM for, but those are far and few in between.

brake flush
adj valve lash
cradle seals
valve cover grommets
valve cover gasket
fuel filter
pcv valve
check leaky seals- dist o-ring etc
check cap/rotor/wires
check brakes
check cv boots for tears or cracking
rotate tires
check condition of tires
adj tire psi
if you havent done the timing belt yet
replace:

water pump
crank/cam/oil pump/balancer shaft-seals
drive belts
while you're at it or if you havent done so
replace:

you need to be more specific on what kind of a "tune-up" you want
oh and BTW i wouldnt use anything other than oem honda parts..you'll thanks yourself in the end

A plain and simple tune up consists of...
Cap and rotor
Spark plugs
Timing check/adjustment.
If I asked for a tune up this is what I would expect.
