Anyone know if the JDM 98 ITR header flows enough exhaust gas for jrsc with 8psi? im planning on getting the jrsc in the future and i do want to get the itr header now. would i be wasting my money with that header? any suggestions? im not going for maximum power output, i just want more power and the engine bay to still look at stock as possible.
my buddy is running 9psi on his jrsc gs-r and running the dc sports jdm 4-1 (basically the same). he put out 230whp and 160lbs of tq w/ that header and high flow cat and rsr exhaust. so i say get it but i think the best is the kamikaze for the jrsc, too bad its 2 piece
yep that's me!!! hahaha... ye abut in truth i'd prolly make more power w a kamikaze header...but screw it too lazy... to find one then change and sell my dc jdm.

where do i get a kamikazi header and can i put it on b4 i get the jrsc will i lose power if i have that and no jrsc??? what other parts are good for the jrsc ie. intake, exhaust???
For an intake, you want a large diameter non-tapered shortram.
Heat is not an issue with a JRSC since the intake gets blazing hot anyways. You want as much air as possible, as soon as possible.
Exhaust you want something mated to how much power you think you are going to produce.
Most likely 60mm, 2.5", or 3" exhaust and highflow cat.

Thanks for all the info, but would the JDM ITR header suffice? i want to use the heat shield and attempt to keep the engine bay looking stock to the untrained eye.
Based on what I've heard from several people I have talked to locally who all have run the JRSC, I would never recommend the Kamikaze header. Everyone says it's a total piece of crap. A friend of mine is running the JDM DC 4-1 with a 3" thermal exhaust, but I don't think he has dyno numbers yet. Another was running a USDM DC header, but I think a 2.5" collector would be best. I bet if you were willing to spend the money, Hytech or SMSP could design a great header for a supercharged application.
In regard to the original question, the JDM ITR should work quite well.

Thanks for all the replies. Now I know this is going kind of far, but do guys know if i would be able to use the stock muffler and just change the piping diameter and still be effective? or will the smaller diameter of the muffler piping just be way too restrictive? i dont like loud exhausts and i do like the way the stock muffler and tip look.

Look at the primaries on this 4-1 kamikaze and compair it to a DC JDM 4-1
I beleave the Hytech and SMSP exhausts use a twin loop muffler that is almost as quite as stock. 2.5" catbacks too. Also mugen is a 2.5" with twin loop.
Those are pretty costly though, not sure of any other than that.
