Re: header difference (BlackSage)
4-2-1 is more for midrange
4-1 is a top end header
It depends what you are looking for as far as performance goes and where you want your powerband to be

4-2-1 is the way to go for everyday driving.
The difference in low end may be just a couple hp/tq, but the GSR needs every bit of it. Most people don't drive around with their secondary intake runners (hehe, unless you were me back in highschool).
Also, installing a 4-2-1 is much much easier. If you haven't decided on a header..you might want to look around for dyno plots.
When I was looking for one I was stuck between the DC Sports and Neuspeed (for both price and power gains. I was told the Neuspeed has a better ceramic coat than the DC). Stay away from super cheap brands.

Comptech 4-2-1 produced good WHP in the upper rev band during the great header test. All around it's a great header, however if you have cams ect. the 4-1 with the 2 1.2 inch collector is the way to go.
The comptech was made to give it power through the whole rev band.

Yea, that's why I mentioned price! I had no money in highschool (not like I have money in college..). My header was 1/2 the price of the Comptech. I didn't really care if it was stainless or ceramic.
Heh. For the price of a Comptech header, I gained 30-35 in my WRX. HAHA.
