hatch sometimes refuses to open
sometimes when i unlock my car (with my alpine alarm remote), and go to open my hatch, i push the hatch switch (this is only on 98+ integras, 94-97 had a switch by the gas door release on the drivers side floor), and i hear the electric switch activating, telling the hatch to open.. but it does not. the hatch acts like the car is still locked, yet i hear the electric switch trying to open it. the only way i know to make the hatch open is to relock the car and wait a minute or so, then try again. sometimes it'll work, sometimes it wont. i've tried using my key to open it, and it pops the hatch up a little, but the switch is still holding it down. at first it only did this one time.. but now it seems to happen just about every time i try to open my hatch. can i fix this myself? what is the problem?
My hatch does the same thing all the time.
The locking mechanism gets stuck. When I try to unlock it, it locks right back up. You have to turn the key to unlock, hold the key turned in the unlock postion while you use the hatch lever to open the trunk. Works everytime. But it's a pain in the *** when you have your hands full.
I would imagen this would be covered under warrenty. I'm going to try to get it replaced under warrenty. I've just been to lazy to do it yet.
