sweet I am gonna go for the GSR , prefferably a DB8 , dont care about weight , comfort and fun are what its all about in a DD. how hard is a stick integra to drive? cable trannys are super easy and right now I drive a DSM with hydro tranny , would it be similar to the DSM? some cars have super hard clutch some dont. granted wear n tear has alot to do with it too. just never driven an integra cept and auto.
now, dont get TOO down on the Civic Si with the B16.. that is a VERY potent motor, and the car is rare, and quite pimpy... alot more rare than the GSR, which are alot more common than you think..
B18c is a DOPE motor, but most people jock it more, simply because it comes with more HP stock... b16's can be just as fast... it all depends on preference..
in my opion, i LOVE the b16, because of how it screams in the upper RPMs.. screw torque.. lol.. But the B18c will give you a wider power band, is very nice for sporty street driving..
Put it this way.. I have never met any one who drove a GSR, that didnt like it..
Test drive both, and see what you like

...he says he's not going to mod the car he's getting. It'll be his DD.
With that said, I still say you get the GS, spend a SMALL amount of money and about 3 hours to slap the GSR tranny next to the b18b, and THAT will be plenty zippy. Even a bit more fun to play with than a vtec while daily driving.
Sorry man, I'm a vtec lover but I can't let you pass on the opportunity to rock a non-vtec with short (but not too short) gearing. Fun as hell, guaranteed.

I'm sorry I just don't see it. The GS/LS/RS has two disadvantages:
1) taller gearing
2) 28 fewer hp and 1200 fewer rpm
Swapping the tranny for $700 - $1000, will fix the first problem but not the second. You've still got a car that's slower than a GS-R and the price advantage has almost evaporated.

well the search died , almost every car i have looked at is sold. the only GSR thats to my standards is at a dealer for 6000 for 150k GSR ! jesus ****.
there is an LS in springfield for 3800 with 118k that sounds a little better but really wanted to go with the GSR

good idea! i get off early I might as well stop by there. , I am kinda pissed now because I literally have looked on CL , Autotrader , midmobile.com , honda-tech , club integra , kcsr , and many more and not found a one yet worth the money. I used to have a 4 door GS , bought it with 128k for 4000 bucks and even then that was too much.

the b18b does have a another advantage which is the reliability of non-vtec [no oil burning issues]. It may seem small but this also means you dont have the camming shifting around in your engine head to enable different runners and the computer isn't variably changing the timing. So in a nutshell its a more simplistic driving experience, something to think about

Find a b18b equipped teg and get a GSR tranny for $400-$600, and you should still have money left over. And you'll have a nice, dependable car that you won't have to rev the **** out of to merge onto the freeway, lol. I didn't even think about the oil burning issue, and you guys probably didn't think about insurance costs either.
Sorry I'm not dropping it, haha, but what I'm saying is true. If you truly want a simple, scrappy DD, then the combo of a b18b and a GSR tranny is something worth looking into. GSR's aren't that spectular if you're not going to invest in mods.
