If the GC's are your desired spring rate, I'd definitely go with that and an adjustable shock (Koni Yellows). Tein = JDM bling. Go for something that does the same job for less.
you guys relaize that in japan tein is like APC to us.
honestly i don't like their basic kit. my friend got it. it has quality but the adjustability sucks unless you go top tein kit.
and a true true coilover in my mind is height adjustable wihtout changing the spring rate.
that is an adjustable mount oh the coilover, these systems also have adjustable spring perches to tweak your springrate and such. they also have adjustable dampening struts.
look into endless zeal systems, JIC has a couple true coilovers.
i really like these, http://www.jic-magic.com/produ...2.htm
they will even make you a full custom spec race coilover system

OMG, I can't believe what we have done to this guy.
its JDM all the way... lol man there is some thing wrong with us.
1. euro's make the best susp. stuff
2. tein spring are made in Taiwan
3. Basic's and SS I believe are not even sold in Japan, just here because we are so F%^&ing *JDM* crazy.
so unless your getting high model Teins, find something cheaper and better and stop being a JDM *****.
read this post, I'm not the only one.
good luck... JDM peace out

Actually, you can still use the hammer
All you gotta do is type hammer with 1 colon on both sides *: hammer :* <~~ Take out the spaces though

i dont believe you can "slam" your car with a tein setup...a friend of a friend ruined his tein suspension by going too low. my ground controls, on the otherhand, go as low as i want.
Im riding on Ground Controls on my DA with stock shocks still.. Been riding them for 4 months with no problems. My buddy who has TEIN SS on his 2001 4 door civic says he can't tell a difference. Actually, his makes a weird creeking noise when he turns left. I only spent $250 for my GC's and it's the best $250 i spent on my car. More than enough for daily/spirited driving. Saving up for Illuminas

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a set of GC's and a set of AGX's together about the same price as Tein basics?

Also, you can get custom spring rates on the teins as well. I know a lot people gripe about the rates that come standard.

Er how can you adjust spring rate with out changing the actual physical make up of the spring?
You can change *PRELOAD*, but not springrate

Ive seen them go for 800 something. If you get the ground controls and you lower your car, youre gonna need new struts unless you wanna blow the stock ones out. Adjustable struts plus the GC's are close to the price of the teins. And, while the adjustable struts are 5 way adjustable, the Teins are friggin 16

Koni Sport shocks are infinitely rebound adjustable. You can have them modified to also be able to adjust compression as well as rebound. The adjustor on the shocks do not have preset "clickstops", you can set them anywhere you want within the range of adjustment, which is 1.75 turns of the adjustment **** from full soft to full stiff.
Lower end adjustable height full coilover systems (Tein Basic, A'pexi World Sport, etc.) do not give you the choice of spring rate or damping adjustability. For about $850 you can get a system which is essentially a full coilover system (the new longer GC sleeves for Koni shocks look really nice) and get your choice of spring rate to suit your needs and goals, plus damping rebound damping adjustability to help further fine tune your car's suspension setup. How could you NOT want to have all that for $850? I guarantee no full coilover system offers all that for that price.

not to be on your bird patrick
but i def. think the same way, as i tired to explain that in my earlier post.. you just did a better job then me!!
i love Tein products, its just they are way over priced. The only stuff worth it is the higher end Tein kits, but then you can get that same flexibility, and quality with what patrick said.. I am JDM crazy a lil myself but not for Tein's, maybe for some Moton's or Flightex's it would be worth it, only the best.. and Tein simply isn't the best suspension that people ***** it out to be..
