First off the car in question is throwing codes 22 10 15 and 21 (22 and 21 vtec pressure valve and solenoid, 10 IAT, and 15 is Ignition output signal) Motor is a b18c (gsr). Vtec obviously doesnt function correctly...but check this...if i restart the engine...and try to engage vtec ...itll engage but then itll chip out again and throw those codes. But everytime without fail if i restart it...i can engage vtec... That doesnt seem normal, I havent checked the solenoid yet, but im going to tommorow. Also after a hard run, ill see lots of smoke coming from what looks like the bottom of the IM (underneath where you cant really see), the car doesnt overheat or looks like it burns oil...the type of smoke and smell im getting is the type of smoke and smell youd get if you spilled oil on your header...

Anyway UPDATE: the smoke was from exhaust...looks like a leak somewhere and its dripping onto the pipe, but the leak only occurs under high rpm or when the car tries to engage vtec...oh yea and vtec engages for 1st and 2nd gear...but under 3rd (when its in higher rpm for a longer time before shifting) vtec chips out
