Default Function Form Type 1 VS Progress CS-II

Which set up would you pick? I can't seem to decide. I got a budget of 650 and under. Type 1's are very common but I also heard good reviews about the CS-II.

I love my type 1s, had them on my old integra, got them for my new one. To me they ride really smooth and i got them from Logic Motorsport for 579 free shipping

FF is one of those brands that's inexplicably popular, considering how poorly they are made. Progress is far superior.

It has been discussed before, ironically we are stuck between the same decision.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/click-here-all-you-curious-about-suspension-setups-their-costs-reliability-2967499/

the low down:

"Progress = Function with a little bit of form.

FF1's = Form with with a little bit of function."

Progress is a quality coilover for the money. FF is just meh. Like Gagnar said FF's popularity can't really be explained, it just sorta happened.

But on a $650 budget, Progress is the way to go. AMR > Koni/GC > Progress is my order.

vexmotorsports has FF1's for $570 shipped and hardparked has progress CS-II's for $560 shipped to my area. both are absolutely good prices. Like I said, if you want to slam your car and don't care much about ride quality then go for the FF1's. If you want to have a smooth ride for your daily driver and a moderate drop then go for the progress CS-II's. That being said, Progress has my vote.

Click on the threads I posted earlier, they were the ones that helped me choose my decision.

FF1 are notorious for leaking and also having a really poor adjustability range despite the high number of stops. The main advantage is that they are pretty stiff for people who want to slam, although you can order 500/500 on the Progress if you really want to drop.

My teg is a daily driver as of now. But i am planning to drop it pretty low sooner or later. What spring rate would you suggest for me? Sorry for the so many question guys. Still pretty new to alot of this.

It all depends on how low you want to go. A lot of people feel that the OTS Progress rates are too soft for more than 1-1.5" of drop. If you are planning on going lower you might want 500/350 or even 500/500. Since 500 is as high as you can go on Progress shocks, you might want to consider a different coilover if that won't be enough. I am not sure how much drop you can get with 500/350. If you don't get an answer here try the suspension forum.
