Icon4 Front Axle Removal Issue

Hey all 98 b18b1 LS integra, trying to remove my front axles(both driver and passenger side). I have not done this in awhile and can't remember if I'm doing something wrong. I separated the axle from the hub, but am having trouble separating it from the half shaft thing?

I am doing the drivers side first and am stuck... Am i separating it at the right place? I can't see any clips or anything holding it on so why is it stuck?

Thanks

Try using equal pressure from both sides. I had a time with mine trying to remove them with a crowbar. After wrestling with it an hour or two, I stuck two flatheads up there and it popped right out!

Damn, went back out there with my two thickest screwdrivers and really went crazy on it, still won't budge. I feel like there's a c clip or something holding it, not sure why it won't move.

There's a C-Clip on the end of the axle inside your transmission that locks it in. Keep trying, It seemed impossible to me at the time and then it popped out with minimal force.

Maybe try lightly prying while you spin the axle?

I've always just put the end of a short piece (like 8-12") of 2x4 up against the back of the cup of the axle and beat on with a hammer it until it popped off.

A dinky screwdriver isn't going to do anything besides scarring the axle. Use either a crowbar or wooden 1"x1" or 2"x4" (and large hammer) to break loose the axle from the intermediate shaft.

Try using a air hammer to it. I've had them stuck before. Hit it with an air hammer real quick and came out.

yeah that side is very tough to get out. I had a horrible time when I had to replace my drive side axle last year. I ended up pulling the intermediate shaft out and going to town on it with a hammer till it finally pinged out.
