Default Freon Problem

Well, my A/C wasnt working, so I go pick up a freon bottle at Advance for the R-134A system. ANyway I pressure checked the system and its in the red, about halfway in the red. I am pretty sure this is the problem. Anyone have ANY Idea how to releave the pressure?

If high side is too high while its running, maybe your expansion valve is plugged. Sometimes the receiver/dryer spills its guts into the lines & that plugs up the valve. Gotta evacuate it, open it, & figure out which component is plugged.

If you jumper the safety switches so it still runs, you might destroy your compressor too. So it's a good thing you didn't just ignore the pressure & add the refrigerant anyway.

If you want to do it the cheap method just stick a car key or anything with a tip onto the low-side adapter and let it out. Do it outside with some wind to avoid inhaling the fumes, you can die from too much of it.
