Default fixin the speedo needle

Ok so i got a new gauge cluster for my car because i got sick of my indiglos and theres glue all over the stock gauges. So i got it from UPS today and I immediately check out the needles to see if they were ok. The speedo needle stuck between 0 mph and 120 mph but didnt stick between 145 and 120. Since it would be pretty much worthless since the first time i go on the highway my speedo would be stuck at 80mpg (speeding ticket waiting to happen) i tried looping the needle all the way around, hopping the needle stopper so the spring would be wound tighter. Well now it works. I was just wondering if this is going to affect the way the speedo works. Do you think its going to be off?
