Default Finally getting motor built

ok, been driving the B20B for a couple months now.(Everything stock with only ITR cams, and the basic IHE) Now the motor is in the machine shop getting the new JE pistons(10.5) installed, shot peened rods, balanced crank with rods and piston, polishing the crank. The head is getting a 3 angle valve job with titanium retainers and springs. The ECU is going to be chipped by Skunk 2, the tranny is finally being replaced with GSR tranny, not the LS. I have a 75 shot fogger system that will also be added on. What do you think this motor will be able to run? I hoping to run 12's. oh the car is a 94 teg. Fully new paint job and body kit is being done as we speak. The rear interior is basically stripped. I have a pair of slicks too. Does anyone have a clue as to what it will do with slicks and without slicks? Thanks guys, just wanted a basic idea. Alot of money is being spent again, and would like to see a significant difference.

oh and exedy clutch, aem cam gears.

your right. That's true. I'd be hella pissed at you and call you a phoney. Hahaha. Just wanted to see if I could get a basic idea. Actually, i know i'll run 7's all day long. Oh well, guess i'll just have to see. Anyone else?

Compression is Nitrous' good friend ... 10.5 won't get you as much as 11 or even 12-1 could get you. If you pick up a book on Nitrous building technique you'll see what i mean. Also how much are you paying to shotpeen your rods? Usually you'll have to have them shotpeened then machined for ARP rod bolts - god help you if you don't and to clean the surfaces up from shot peening. This is usually close to the cost of new rods so why not do new rods... are you putting in new bearings? I'd say high 13's are in the book unless you plan to run gobs of nitrous. 12's would be much easier in a hatch (maybe you have one i dunno).

Your going to have to be careful when spraying; especially if you get an aftermarket ECU. The ECU in all likely hood will lean out some of the fuel timing in certain places which is BAD! Though compression is good for nitrous, ideally nitrous should be used with lower compressions as it is less likely to cause detonation. A Prelude with only bolt-on's running a 70 shot can run high 13's...so I'm guessing high 12's, but be careful.

First off, thanks for the inputs guys really appreciate it. So what I am understanding is the S2 program is no good with my setup? I haven't sent it out yet, and if there is a better suggestion of ECU programming, would gladly take any. What do you guys think with that set up?
Actually the bottom end work is costing me about five hundred without costs of new bearings and seals. Honing, polishing, balancing, assemble. I took the whole thing apart so that saved me some money. What do you suggest?

Id go for some aftermarket rods as well instead of the shot-peened stock ones.

shotpeened will work fine. you should pull a low 13 with slicks that is if its tuned right..

Too many factors to consider.. Tuning, traction, suspension, and driver. I said a low 13 as an easy estimate. A GSR with slicks half gutted with the basic bolt on and a 80 shot of nos should do a 12.8. Its possible to hit 12's.
