here's an awesome idea: when youre ready to know this you will. if youre buying your first car i suggest you learn how to drive really well and also learn some things about responsibility. most of the time 16 year olds: if that's how old you are, arenot responsible, they will go street race, they will wreck. it's proven, why do you think insurance is so high for 16yrolds? especially for integras. go buy yourself a civic, which is not a bad car, you just won't cause the demise of yet another beautiful integra. or yourself for that matter. not trying to be mean here, im just stating the truth and trying to give you advice so that you don't kill yourself or others. good luck

You are 17, your insurance costs will be close to what the payment would be on a brand new car. The GSR has a higher theft rate than the lower trim models. And because there is an A on the hood your insurance classifys it as a luxury car.
My brother is 19, and attempted to buy a 99-00 Si, and pay cash for it. He then got an insurance quote for full coverage with uninsured/under insured, with increased liability coverage the cost was close to $400, Standard liability and comprehensive was just over $300. Call your insurance agent and ask for a quote on your selections.
If you can swing the Insurance, and don't mind Get a 1994 GSR. My reasons; #1 DOHC VTEC, #2 this car was inproduction for 8 YEARS! The parts bin for this car is huge and has a wide range. Both After market and OEM. Any thing that will fit on a 92-95 civic will fit on an integra and vice versa.
Best of luck!

Why, and what's your reasoning?
The B18C1 has a stronger bottom end than the B18A/B and has a Block girdle. The B18C rods are beefier(if I am not mistaken), and the bearings are better. The GSR is faster in the quarter mile than the RS/LS/GS. The B18C1 will have More power than the B18A/B assuming the turbo systems are identical.

it would go boom because **** happens in the real world..not everything is fault free and ALWAYS works...at least not in this lifetime...anything could happen...ive seen tuned engines go as well...so its not like its unprecedented....

I suppose I shouldn't have assumed B18C1, but you also should have differentiated from DA GSR, and DC GSR.

How True, but using your own reasoning of "**** happens in the real world" would lead me to choose the B18C1 because of the stronger bottom end.

da and DC are chassis codes, you know that, either way i never said anything bad about turboing a GSR motor, regardless of it being a b17 or b18

I'd have to say if you're going for reliability, don't turbo the car at all and definitely don't turbo the car without an experienced tuner. I guess anything can happen, so why take the chance? A turbo GS-R will have more potential than a turbo LS unless you swap out the LS head for a vtec head. Hopefully people don't go into a turbo project expecting to "blow up motors". Try to use some common sense, and the chances of your motor blowing will be way less.
