ELD code 20, what does it have to do with EM

ELD code 20, what does it have to do with EM
So of course I have a code 20 in my car, it does not make the CEL light up, only shows up when the 2 pins are jumped to show codes.
I just disabled it on my chip but what does it have to do with engine management? Why does the ECU even care
Does it effect the way the car runs like some other codes, ie gas millage or etc.
