Default ECU problems and quick question

my 98 integra LS has had a pretty big problem with it since it bogged down and wouldn't start last week. The engine was flooded with fuel so bad it poured from the intake. so i changed the oil and cleaned the plugs and replaced the fuel pressure regulator. it cranks but wont start. so i check the spark now and theres none and the engine is flooded agian. the engine floods even when the car is not being cranked and the key is just in the ON position so somehow fuel is getting past the injectors. So my thoughts and the thoughts of my neighbor are that the ecu was sending out weird signals. So my main question is what ECU's can i use as a replacement???? : The car is a 98 LS with 5-speed trans.

I dont think the ecu is your problem....maybe check the fuel pump?! or regulator? Anybody else want to chime in on this topic? I'm not too sure..

well actually the check engine light came on and i had it checked w/ the diagnostic reader and it gave two codes one for auxillary emissions control and one that had something to do w/ an ECU malfunction. but i did replace the fuel pressure regulator and fuel still gets thruogh the injectors at an impressive rate and like i said it flows through even when im not cranking it over. the diagnostic readings are not somthing i always trust because it came from one of those universal readers which can read from all kinds of cars not just acura's you know so i'm not sure.

your ecu currently is it chipped?

if its bad it will not pulsate the injectors and just dump fuel. you can try to disconnect 2 of the injectors to see if that will start the car.
you can also get a node and see if the injectors are pulsating or not.

but if you mention something about a bad ecu, then id try another one first.
