Default ecu or just vtec controller

my friend and i are currently building his ls/vtec we basically have everything down except for the wiring. he says that he can just buy a vtec controller and hard wire it together to activate the vtec....... and i say that he should really go on the safe side and buy the harness and the ecu..... can anyone clear this up? i really havent seen many set ups just use the vtec controller

thx bryan..

Default Re: ecu or just vtec controller (g00se)

you can do it either way, but an ecu also contains other important things like fuel curves, etc. imo, the ecu is the way to go. i'm running a skunk2 chipped p28, works great
