Default ECU ERROR HELP??

Hi there, im new and im lucky to find this sweet as site

ok so here is my problem, I bought a car 88 Honda Integra with zc head) , and driving it home the CEL came on, and stays on till ignition is switched off, ( not having and performance issues )

so i came and found this site and told me to watch the ECU lil red light and count how many times it flickers to get the code.. only problem is.. what does it mean if the light flashes 17 shorts flashes Pauses and does 17 short flashes again( obviously is repeats) ?
so i dont know how to work out what the 17 short flashes are ( have red FAQ )

Oh and i cant find its diagnostic plug, Does it have one??

It definatly is, thats whats confusing me coz i looked at the codes ( being 17 "vss" ) it shouldn't work.. unless it has an intermittent fault, like a voltage spike or something disturbing the sensor, what is the best way to test it? I have already confirmed that after a ecu reset it does come back, and i dunno were the sensor is either =S

Oh nuts,i almost forgot, were exactly is the vss on the 88 Honda Integra?

If you know what you are doing, you can check the vss. It should give pulses of voltage when you jack up one side and spin the wheel. It may be getting to the speedo, but not to the ecu. Check for the pulses at the ecu. You should be able to find your ECU pinout online. http://www.hondahookup.com for the official shop manuls and VSS troubleshooting procedure.
Do you know what ECU it is using? You can find out from the serial number.
The sensor is should be somewhere on the top of the transmission.
