Alright guys, I have a strange problem with my ebrake light in the dash.........it goes on in the moring when I first start my car and stays on all the way to work (only about 2 miles). The ebrake is obviously not on ...... car rolls freely........ When I start my car at lunch or after work it does not stay on (acts normal). This has just started to happen since it is getting colder outside (I park outside). Could this be that the ebrake cables are shrinking/being more restrictive just a hair and thereby causing the ebrake to never fully disengage until it warms up? What do you all think? TIA Do you think that simply taking a little tension out of the ebrake cables would fix this? Is it maybe just that my brake fluid is low?

check brake fluid

 

ebrake doesnt use fluid, its cable and they get rusty / sticky, check that it is releasing the rear brake all the way after engaging, maybe all you need is to adjust the cable tension

 

..Or try the my very simple suggestion.
