Dropping the teg
How far do you guys have yours dropped? Whats a good drop where you dont need a camber kit, i heard that if u dont drop it farther than a certain amount u dont need a camber kit. How far would the ITR springs drop an ls? Thanx im a newb so go ahead and flame away
get the comptech springs they are a one inch drop and they dont really need camber kit with them. springs are good for your integ ls i had them on my ls. when ever you do drop your car the camber will change but it depends on how much you drop your car. i have Ground control coil overs now on my car and i love it. you can adjust the height of the car. but when i all comes down to it do what makes you happy. oh yeah camber kits do have a bad side toooooo!
yeah, i loved the ground control coilovers i had on my old teg too,i never had any problems with camber wear when mine was lowered and it was lowered about 2 1/2 inches
If your worried about your drop height then just go get coil overs. U can adjust whatever height you want if your not satisfied yet but as for springs it just depends on the springs itself. So lets say if you put in that itr springs or whatever then you just have to live with that height even if your satisfy or not. Well you get what i'm saying. I have Skunk2 on mine and I'm loving it.
I have the Skunk2 Coilovers on mine as well and I love it. I wish I would have gotten shocks/struts when I had the coilovers installed, but oh well. I love the fact that I can lower & raise them whenever I want.
Hey just get a camber kit if you drop. Trust me on this. The amount you can drop without the camber kit is not very noticable. You will want lower it more right when you see it. I would say a nice look would be about 2". Save up and do it right.
I'm sure many members will say the same thing when upgrading suspension. Theres no real cheap way to upgrade it unless you want a half assed lowering kit with bad handling.
Shocks, Coilovers, Camber kit, and Alignment. You will thank me later when you still have that nice set of tires your paid over $400.00 for. that are still good. If you dont do it right a nice set of tires will be gone in less then a month.
I have spent close to $1000 for my suspension so far and I still have some upgrades to add.

i said it before and ill say it agian . camber kits arent needed on tegs. i had mine slammed like 3-3.5 all the time and never had any probs.
i got my skunks coming in this week and im slaming the **** out of this one too with no camber kits.

So your saying your teg has no camber at all slammed 3". Thats a bunch of BS. your car probably looks like this on the road. / \. You may not be wearing your tires fast but the performance is shot because your not gripping the road as good as you could with NO camber.
The big problem with wear if your toe. make sure you get an alignment.

its better to have one. i don't have a camber kit and mine is probably lowered 2.5" or more... i'm at 32,000 miles and still have good tread....but your right, my tires are angled and the suspension is probably affected. i just need to get struts! what kind of struts are best w/ skunk2 coilovers? shocks/struts are the same for the integra right...? integras use struts right?
im telling you dude, it was enver aligned nor camber adjusted abnd it rode like it was on rails and never had tire wear probs. . . . maybe i just got lucky, but im telling you it was on point /
the reason i didnt do it , cuz noone could get my car on the lifts so i gave up on the camber kit , i had it and took it back after i found out i was runnig fine without it .

i have my car lowered about 2" w/ Eibach sportline springs and Koni yellows along w/ various strut and anti sway bars.. after I got it done I got an alignment and made sure the toe angles were in check.. my tires wear pretty even but I also rotate them at every oil change (3K).. so maybe that helped... I used to have my Koni's on the lower spring perches.. but it was too low to drive around (it looked great when parked) but I live in LA w/ a lot of pot holes n stuff.. and I couldnt make it up my own driveway w/o scraping the front.. so i put it back up on the stock spring perches and its fine.. nice drop, and no noticeable wear on the inner edges or anything..
mine is lowered more than 2" off the ground and no camber kit whatsoever. All I did was get an alignment and camber correction and toe correction and everything is fine. I don't really think the camber kits are really necessary thats my honest opinion I guess unless you want to slam it all the way then yeah sure it would help to get a camber kit but if its not really fully slam then I would say why bother...

Remember, you want to have SOME negative camber to help handling. Straight up 0 camber in front will make your car understeer worse.
Be aware, an alignment is needed after ANY change in ride height. Ride height changes affect both camber AND toe-in, so most likely if you make any change in ride height (like w/ adjustable coilovers) then your tires will wear down all wierd unless you get it aligned.

Only got with the 2" drop if you planning on getting 17" rims. I have a 2.5" drop with stock 95 GSR and i crack my tranny the other day, my oil pan is bent and my down pipe is bent. I just ordered some new springs going with 1.5" drop. The car look nice at 2" but it's not worth it.

i've got a 1 1/2" drop on skunk2's, but that's because i don't care about camber right now (old, almost dead tires).
