Downshift problems
So when I'm driving down the highway and I come up to a off ramp I like to downshift. So my problem is when I begin to do this I have to FORCE the shifter into 3rd gear. Like I have to SLAM it in. I was thinking its syncros. I Would like to live in the fantasy world where its not but....... Any ideas's? How much is this gunna cost me?
It could also be your hydraulic system going... er... first off... is it just third gear that you have a problem getting into? If it is... synchros... if not, well, like i was starting to say... it could be either of two things i think: messed up hydraulic system (clutch), or a popped clutch spring.

PS just had the same problem, but mine was both popped spring, and bad hydraulic system

3rd gear syncros going bad in integras is a common issue. If it only does it in 3rd then, sorry to say this but its gonna be your syncros. There's no cheap way out of this.
When you shiftdown, do you revmatch/doubleclutch??? If not then you should start NOW!! I always double clutch whenever I shiftdown, the shifts are a lot smoother, reduces wear on your syncros and your clutch, and also helps by not disrupting the cars balance.

Hmm well I started double clutching last year alot. I still do it most of the time, but the car has had about 80k of no double clutchin on it. I did have a new clutch put on it when I had the Turbo installed so that could be something to investigate too. It only does this on the highway, no where else.
