does ign coil temperature make big difference???
today i checked the resistance on my coil and inside my house (60-70 degrees) .8 ohms and in my garage (20-30 degrees) 1.0 ohm. last week i checked the same coil and got 3.2 ohms (10-20 degrees), brought the coil inside my house and let it sit overnight then rechecked it and got 1.1 ohms. im leaning heavily on bad coil but im also curious if the temperature differences im getting is common.
BTW i know this is just on the primary side and i know specs are supposed to be 0.6-0.8 ohms

This is from the Helms manual from the ignition section (pg 23-95).
NOTE: Resistance will vary with the coil temperature; specifications are at 68-degrees F (20-degrees C)
So, to answer your question. Yes.
