Icon6 Dizzy. and spark plug problem?

I have a 93 DA and my Dizzy. is throwing a check engine light. The mechanic said its a sensor and the whole Distributor needs to be replaced. He also noticed my cheap spark plug was sticking out. It popped out again today, so I was wondering if its possible for the spark plug to cause the Distributor to throw the code out.

The engine light has been popping on and off for over a month now, so should I be really woried about something going seriously wrong?

Code 8, or somewhere close to that cause I'm not sure.

Whatever the code was its the correct code for a failed sensor in the Distributor.

What do you mean spark plug "popped out"????

If you have a plug popping out your head you have a lot bigger problems

If its a sensor in the distributor I would assume its the tdc sensor and if that's bad it could cause misfires so I would change it asap

lol. i think he meant plug wires. and the tdc code won't be set by that. it would, however, set a misfire code for the corresponding cylinder.
if the wires are popping off the distributor, try spreading the connector(s) slightly so they "clip" into the terminals on the distributor

You can replace a tdc sensor in the distributor, its very simple to dissassemble a distributor. But also very simple to **** up so be careful
